The only common issue I'm aware of is where the kernel loads a module for using the dongle as a TV, so nothing else gets access to it. If rtl_test seems to indicate that's the case, you can blacklist the kernel modules as is outlined here: http://www.kubonweb.de/?tag=rtl-sdr -- MC
