Yes, that was poetic/dramatic license used to make a point about fraud -
sorry if that inaccuracy misled some (specially sensitive or gullible).
But I guess "expecting monkeys and getting crabs" might have worked as well.

"Sea monkeys" is a patented(?) hybrid shrimp (Artemia NYOS) from the
same guy that flogged the x-ray glasses (which worked no more than "sea
monkeys" could be trained to do "tricks" or "swim in formation"). Sea
lice are a different class but same family (Crustacea).

As naive children we all wanted the "sea monkeys" - instead we got
copepods, or tadpoles for Xmas. At least I wasn't dumb enough to ask
"Santa" for an ant-farm...

And good bait for warm water fish (as are the copepods, which can also
