Indeed - I missed that, though I had thought of suggesting, as a matter
of practise, that you either change the case or variables - or change
the name re:conflict between variables, built-ins and system commands
e.g. size


Another thought I considered mentioning - is that jpegs contain all
sorts of problematic characters[*1], of special note may be those that
can be conflated with end of record and end of file.


[*1]hence my suggestion to search for the traditional jpeg end of image
characters - which is not perfect e.g. when dealing with compression
and/or thumbnail inserts.
