All,
In one of the many rabbit-holes we went down in Bob's dense and
riveting talk(s) last night, we touched on knitting your own CPU out
of transistors. In that vein, here's a video from Jeri Ellsworth
(Possibly most famous for developing the C-One reconfigurable FPGA
computer and the Commodore-64 Direct-TV ASIC-based derivation from it)
- baking her own transistor from a silicon wafer.
Now if we can just work-out how to ferment silicon wafers out of
sand, we can go from beating each other to death with jawbones one day
to flying cars the next!
