I'm sure this approach doesn't apply to any of the good folk on this
list doing Software, for Fun or Profit:

 Fix things as you find them, prevent 'drift' and entropy.

When I read the phrase, I thought it had something to do with Microsoft,
but no... It comes from Policing in near ghettos.
