The manual option seemed rough, but an "apt-get clean" didn't clear
enough space (and apt-get remove was failing with the missing
dependency). Anyway, afterwards I removed up the "moved" kernel
packages with synaptic & it didn't complain. I'm assuming that has
cleaned things up ...
