I don't suppose you've got a shortlist of those that are OpenSource
friendly, or even platform agnostic, do you?

Intel's Medfield (KM800) doesn't sound promising (despite Alan Cox's
hard work). Phoronix did a less than flattering review of it recently.

Seems appliance often means "walled garden" these days....
