This <may|may not> be related to the problem that I encountered when 
trying - in March 2011 - to use DVDs to "dist-upgrade" to Debian 6.0.

My bug-report (#bug619521) scored some "follow-up" questions (to correct 
*my* typos in the bug-report!) but no answer to the flagged problem.
