That said, and with all due respect to you Bob, I get the sense that
you don't deeply engage with many of the online threats that many,
many people work with now.
You're a clever guy, running software you mostly understand on
hardware you mostly understand and you have a healthy paranoia. You
are a small target.
As soon as you have family or friends who don't behave online just as
you do, all bets are off.
I could explore this all night but MrB and Sam are right. The Internet
is much, much more dangerous than a loaded 30-06. And I know you know
that's so. It's our job (I hope) as people who know more about it than
others, to help and protect them.
