  Yeah, the older EeePCs used Intel GMAsomethingorother chips, which
just can't cope with video at that resolution. Some EeePCs were
supposed to come with the Broadcom CrystalHd decoder chip, but they
were disabled (or something - memory's cloudy). Newer ION-based Atom
netbooks should be able to do it and the aforementioned weirdo GMA500
(Atom Z-series chip suites, which are intended to go into PDAs/phones)
such-as in the Dell Mini-12 can "kind-of" do 1080P.
