Hi all,

Thanks to the audience last night and the wealth of ideas that came out in discussion about my efforts in duplicating systems.  I've put my notes plus some of the comments up here:

The next obvious step is to translate my demo into a script that creates an lxc instance.

The step after that would be to not bother with tarballs at all, but via SSH to a live running system we want to duplicate.
