Canberra Linux Users Group Meeting - 28th October 2010
	======================================================

Date: 28th October 2010 (Fourth Thursday of the month)

Time: 19:00 - 21:00 (or when it finishes)

Speaker:	Antti Roppola

Abstract:	I recently repeated a process by which I conducted a
brain transplant of a running production server,
grafting it onto the brain-stem of a donor Xen guest
instance. This provides a nice, 100% faithful
testinstance of the production server that can be
		relatively easily updated/snapshotted as required.

This time I bothered to keep notes. The process might be
of interest to CLUG, it's pretty easy provided you are
careful and have a passing awareness of how the boot
process is structured. No doubt some smarty pants will
alert me to some easy tool that does the job for you.

Venue: Room N101
Computer Science and Information Technology Building
		North Road
		The Australian National University

See http://clug.org.au/ for more directions and a map

Food/drink:	Pizza and soft drink/juice. Come hungry, and bring
about $6 to cover the cost of your share if you
		want some.

If you would like to give a talk at a future meeting, please email me.
