Hi Kim,

I've used the 'abc' suite of programs before. With it you can convert
from abc format to postscript or midi, transpose the key signature, and
even convert from midi to abc format.

The programs needed are abc2midi, abcm2ps, abc2abc and midi2abc. These
are supplied in the Debian and Ubuntu distributions. See
