[clug] The harsh realities of CLUG (Interim Summary)

I've explained the current situation to PaulW a few times in the last
few months, but I realise I hadn't actually let the group know what's
happening....

There are plans afoot to replace the current website with something
editable (be it a wiki, Drupal, whatever), the admin team has (rather
wisely) decided to take things in chunks, and get user accounts and the
Ticketing system sorted on the new hosts first, then work towards
mailing lists and a new website on the CLUG LPAR "VM's".

History behind the delay with this is that I have, up until the end of
April, been living and working interstate, making the change for Tony
Breeds and I to meet up as the "Admin team" and get stuff done. Now I'm
hotel hopping my way around Canberra, we're making time to get together
and knock over the outstanding.

TL:DR version is - Expect things to start happening shortly.

As for Club in a Box, I'm assuming this is the meeting management system
(as opposed to the LUG VM offering I was talking about around the LA
traps..) which last I heard was undergoing a tech-spec creation before
work kicked off in 2008...

> Lastly, we're all missing the fact Paul is getting overloaded.

Having done the CLUG and PSIG coordination prior to Paul and Chris
taking over, it comes down to doing as much as you can. Organising the
Installfests/fixfests/makerfests/EVFests, etc is really the work for
another person, not for the coordinator.

While you are the meeting coordinator, your hobby moves from being
involved in Linux to being involved in trying to wrangle anarchy. It
does not leave time for much else.

Steve.
