[clug] Ubuntu Lynx (10.04) and window button positions

not here... on two different laptops I have lost the Network Manager
applet from the panel.

I use/need this to select and connect the preferred wireless network,
and importantly to select and drive the Telstra wireless modem dongle
thingy.

The software Centre says it is installed, but I just can't see it or
get it onto the panel where I cab use it.

Any suggestions?

The annoying thing is I know it works - it *was* there and I was using
it for a day. Then it vanished. That it is missing on two different
computers is a bit of a worry. I hope it is just user incompetence...
