I do remember Rusty's talk.

One key point he emphasised was that electronic voting is very different
from Internet voting. It's one thing to automate a polling place, but
quite a different kettle of fish to make voting available outside of
that controlled environment. The specific example he gave was risk of
people hosting "voting parties"  so that you can cast your vote under
the careful supervsion of your "friends".

Mandating a safe, controlled voting environment seems to be the most
effective way of guaranteeing this privacy. I haven't been able to think
of how else you might do it.
