Actually, Simon Peyton-Jones (of GHC fame,
http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/people/simonpj/) uses Comic Sans
for all his slides (e.g.
http://research.microsoft.com/Users/simonpj/papers/giving-a-talk/giving-a-talk-slides.pdf
) and it seems to work for him.  Joe Armstrong who developed Erlang
apparently also uses Comic Sans (and unlike SPJ he isn't even employed
by MSR, so it must be a functional programming thing).
