yeh agree.The measured startup of the disks was measured at approximately half 
the peak. Was still a large power draw though.

and adverse review in comparison - mainly bagging out raid esp raid5/6. So 
I've fixed the raid bit and put on smartmontools - there's a few more bits I 
haven't done though. Good read for comparison.
