	Canberra Linux Users Group Meeting - 22nd July 2010

Speaker:	Lars Petersson

Abstract:	NICTA, Australia's Information and Communications
		Technology (ICT) Research Centre of Excellence, does
		some really interesting work in ICT. This talk will 
		cover some of the neat hardware (like sensor gloves) and
		software that NICTA have developed. The Automap project
		that does image processing for road sign  identification
		that has a number of applications and spinoffs. The
		trials and tribulations of developing and testing
		OpenSolaris and FreeBSD as an open storage  platform
		will be described. Enhancements, ideas and spin offs are
		welcome particularly in developing cool demonstrations.
