Although I just checked now and it would seem that prices have gone up! :(

Intel Core i7 920 Processor LGA1366 2.66GHz 8MB Cache CPU $359.00
Kingston 6GB(3 X 2GB) DDR3-1333MHZ $185.00
OCZ 30G Vertex Series SSD $219.00
CoolerMaster RC310 Elite Black/Blue with 420W + HD Audio $84.00
MSI X58 Pro-E X58 LGA1366 1600OC DrMos ATX $229.00

Total $1076.00

The 920 and the motherboard mainly. :( You could drop the SSD and get
back in the $900 range. But I highly recommend them, I am currently
running an OCZ Vertex 30GB SSD NFS shared /home directory on a 50 CPU
cluster and it is performing like a little champion.

Yes, I know everyone is telling me that my whites will turn purple and
the cat is going to die but so far I am a _very_ happy camper. Faster
than dual 10k RPM raid disks, less heat, and a lot simpler. Probably
to do with /home copping thousands of small writes to .bash_history
files, reading .bash_profile and the likes as each job
starts/stops/does stuff.
