Thank you - I will follow up all that. Will be away this weekend at the Cobargo Folk
Festival but should get time next week

I tried that and got a notification :
Local Fujitsu DL1150 Epson LQ-2500 Status ready
- which suggests to me that it is correctly finding the printer and associating it
with the appropriate driver, so I endeavoured to print a test page but got :
Failed to print testpage for Fujitsu DL1150
- and when I asked for details got :
/usr/bin/lp : Unknown
Out of curiosity I tried again and again failed but this time with :
/usr/bin/lp : connection refused
From that I went into the folders listing and found :
/usr/bin/lp 17.7Kb Executable file
- so it does exist.
And from somewhere else (by now I am getting a bit confused) I got :
Driver Epson LQ-2500, cups + omni
Connection parallel:/dev/lp0
Would any of that mean much to you, please?
Incidentally I do acknowledge that the DL1150 is an old printer. A replacement is in my
shopping list and I had thought to wait for that to see if it would solve the problem but
have been told that if CUPS is not working with the old printer nor would it work with a
new one.
