[clug] where to add "dmesg -n1" (debian)

I put a USB KVM on a Debian system and the console became unusable -
lots of USB messages when I switched systems.

"dmesg -n1" works nicely (but syslog fills with rubbish)

It's not obvious to me where in the boot process I should put it.

What do others do?
Other distros?
