Disk didn't break.
filesystem got screwed up...

This is the volume that 'Time Machine' uses.
millions of files, huge numbers of hard-links and everything is
ACL'd/extended attributes.

It's been through this problem once before.

This *is* the backup.

Don't appear to be tools to migrate it somewhere else - keeping
everything intact.
