This sounds like a perfect topic for a talk at CLUG to me... :-)

Even though a lot of people don't have Android-based phones, I think we'd all
love to see what the current state of play is for after-purchase hacking on
the phone.  It doesn't have to be a sales pitch, and I'm all for
good-news/bad-news - I just want to see how it works, what kind of firmwares
are available, and what they do.

The same goes for Nokia N900 phones.  Anyone interested to step up to the plate?
