UNIX Infrastructure Specialist

Working in team of professionals this opportunity sees you undertaking a
range of key responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

.         Hardware and Software maintenance of UNIX Servers

.         Provide performance analysis and recommendations for systems which
incorporate automation tools and inherent UNIX utilities

.         Develop, plan and implement solutions to enhance functionality,
reliability and/or useability.

.         Write and present technical & business solutions 

.         Management of vendors when resolving Operating System, network and
hardware problems

 

Skill/Experience Requirements

.         Minimum of 5 years experience with enterprise class servers 

.         Strong Solaris 10 skills including supporting operating system
hardening practices, clustering, live patching.  Other skills include

o   Solaris Auditing (BSM).

o   Solaris Filesystems (ZFS, SAMFS/QFS)

o   Solaris ZONES and Containers

o   Fibre Attached Storage

o   Networking

o   Live patching

o   Shell scripting

.         Detailed knowledge of Sun hardware configuration and support

.         Experience with Postgres (GreenPlum) is highly regarded

.         Generic DBA skills are desirable

.         Experience using Connect:Direct.

.         Solid trouble shooting and problem management skills

.         In-depth understanding of LAN/WAN principles and technologies

.         Customer focused and team oriented

.         Leadership, mentoring qualities and focused on team success 

.         Have worked in a 3rd level technical support centre using remote
management tools.

.         Must be able to meet client's security requirements

.         Be interested in further developing a career in a leadership role,
a Subject Matter Expert or have a business focus
