Well I just installed the latest BlueWhite64 Linux13.0 onto a dual
core machine (AMD 5200) from a 4.2 GByte dvd I downloaded.

It took about 20 minutes and I am glad I attended the meeting otherwise
it might never have been installed

I skipped lilo and did a usb stick instead, but that *didn't work*

So I modified my working menu.lst (found out you don't need an initrd)

Rebooted, startx and kde4 bloomed into life on my Phillips lcd
monitor. Nothing to do!

Compared to my Ubuntu-9.04, the programs I use seem to fire up very
fast. Maybe that is because the distro is specifically built for this
cpu

I am at the bottom end of the learning curve on how to use kde and
slackware, so early days yet.

#ldd /usr/bin/program|fgrep found was brilliant (if that was the
correct command). Thanks to the person that put that up and thanks for
the talk.
