That would be cool. Unfortunately this system is suse 10.1 based which is a 2.6.16 kernel
which seems to be missing such a parameter. Rats.
Sniffing the ethernet shows 4 packets sent out at boot. 3 of these are called router
solicitation. There is a sysctl variable for setting the number of these packets so I
might be able to set this to zero to at least only have a single packet come out at boot.
I'll check it out tomorrow.
