A totally different scenario!

My (reluctant) ventures into cooking are due to the lack of 
<pigs|chickens> who would make short work of my surplus garden-produce.

Consequently, I am reduced to scouring recipe-collections for ideas on 
dealing with 40kg  of peaches before they rot.  And the story for other 
garden produce (pears, plums, tomatoes, zucchinis, corn, etc., etc,) is 
similar.
