gpsbabel does the heavy lifting to get data out and process it. Than some
shell script software (ozlabs tm) called gpsruns does the rest to put it
into google maps.

The interface for the 305 is a usb cable plugged into the charging dock. I
do not know if the newwer 405 and others that use IrDA work with gpsbabel.
