Huawei E220 works find with network manager on fedora and debian stable. 
Extensively tested with the Virgin network (which is re-badged optus, 
apparently).


"option" kernel module is the one to use, but can use usbserial with 
some fiddling.

With the right chat script you can use with Asus WL500g router and 
you've got a portable access point for hackfests, conferences, meetings 
or whatever. :-)
