for example, the older Telsta USB 3G orange Turbomodem 'just works' on
Ubuntu 9.04 (and better than it does on 'doze)

the newer (supposedly faster) blue version 'just doesn't' with the
current kernel release.  Maybe it will with the new release in October
(?)...  maybe not...
