Haven't got one, but have followed software-based radio for a number
of years as a passive observer (one of these days...).

Bdale Garbee gave a talk about GNUradio (http://gnuradio.org ) which
is a similar idea, at the Linux Conf. in Canberra in 2005 (and probably
at other LCAs and elsewhere). Alas, the A/V from the Canberra conf. was
not successful, but the talk slides are here:
