Laptops don't come much "greener" than MacBook Pros - Core 2 Duo, the
entire system is designed to be as efficient as possible, and Apple
have been going to great lengths to remove dangerous chemicals from
their manufacturing - this was one of the motivations for the switch
to aluminium unibody design.
You can run virtual machines from the host OS, or use Linux on the
bare metal. If those options don't cover what you're after, perhaps
you need to be more specific about your requirements :)
"... it cannot use Atom CPUs" is vastly different for example to, "it
must be capable of running sixteen virtualised processors in a
simulated supercomputer facility to demonstrate massively parallel
programming for seismological prediction. The system must be capable
of 'x' MFlops per Watt in this configuration."
