Is there any reason you're particularly interested in the server

The Mac Mini has FireWire 800 *and* USB 2.0, so there's absolutely no
reason you can't add external hard drives. There are even hard drive
enclosures designed to look like the Mac Mini so you can stack your
Mac Mini and all the external drives neatly. There is also a Western
Digital "Passport" drive with FireWire 800, which is bus-powered (will
have one at the meeting tonight).
