You can find it hidden in .kde4/share/apps/kmail (exactly where under than 
depends on the mail transport).

However maybe you don't need to get messy with your mail store. KMail has a 
menu option that allows you to refresh the cache (File->Refresh Local IMAP 
Cache). That might be worth a try?
