[clug] TPG VoIP?

I'm using TPG VoIP.

I have a physical phone plugged into my TPG supplied Dynalink
rta1024vw modem/router. I also have a second phone plugged in to the
real phone line because the VoIP cuts out for "no reason" quite often
and if you don't know the difference between the dial tones (which I
can't train the other members of the house to learn) you end up making
calls on the wrong service.

You can't call 13* (including 1300) numbers from it and you can't call
other VoIP services from it. Also despite what the support staff will
admit to you can't call random land lines within Canberra (ones that
are just standard residential copper phone lines).

I haven't got any Linux soft phones working with the TPG VoIP, but I
haven't tried very hard.

The service when it works is quite good, for the rest of the time I
just hope you don't actually expect their staff to be able to help you
in any way shape or form.

Dave.
