Probably because it, like most other open video and photo hosts, wound
up making available something meeting the legal definition (at least)
of kiddie porn, for at least long enough for a complaint to be noted.
Then there is also the status of x or nc rated material being offered
outside the ACT, which raises questions about federal vs. state
enforcement that I don't recall the answers to.
Get used to your porn, especially anything web 2.0ish, being illegal.
