Households don't have IT Departments or IT security staff and aren't
subject to laws such as HIPPA, Sarbanes Oxley, Privacy Principles etc or
the various policies which cover government agencies (PSM, ACSI 33).

Secondly, although modern hard drives have an in-built over-write with
random data command, there is no simple click here to erase everything
button in any operating system GUI or BIOS to access it. This is
probably intentional in the proprietary world to reduce support issues.
