That's what I was originally thinking and wouldn't have thought much
of it except for the fact that it cut my ssh session off mid-stream
and then locked me out with the ssh_exchange_identification error. I
had no way of cleanly shutting down the box, so had to just pull the
plug (in hindsight I could have connected a USB keyboard to the usb
port. It's a D-Link DNS-323 box).
Guess I'm just being paranoid.
