Further to the point, yes, I understand that language changes. I'm all in
favour of it, and have written a fairly large number of articles about the
fact, too.
By that same rationale, it's about time we started to lose the gender-laden
terms from our language, and start to act in a less misogynistic
and exclusive manner. Especially on lists where it would be nice to see some
more participation from under-represented groups (including, but not limited
to, women).
