Examples of seperating dangerous work voltages from safe control
voltages should be abundant. Like any security consideration, I'd work
from proven designs than DIY (no coffee is worth a fatality).

BTW, the sci.electronics repair FAQ is a bit random, but contains lots
of intersting information on electrical equipment.
