Yes.

OK, removed finger and found cable. Plugged the E71 in via the cable
and selected "PC Suite". Syslog (on vanilla Ubuntu 9.04 amd64) using
network manager

   version: 0.7.1~rc4.1.cf199a964-0ubuntu

Saw lots of fun things in the syslog:

Aug 12 19:35:36 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0): found
serial port (udev:GSM hal:GSM)
Aug 12 19:35:36 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0): new Modem
device (driver: 'cdc_acm')
Aug 12 19:35:36 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0): exported as

Aug 12 19:35:41 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0): device

Aug 12 19:35:41 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0):

Aug 12 19:35:41 spencer NetworkManager:

0' failed
Aug 12 19:35:41 spencer NetworkManager:

Aug 12 19:35:41 spencer NetworkManager: <info> (ttyACM0): device
state change: 2 -> 3

Hrm looks good, set up a "three" connection using "3netacces" as per
what would be expected to work and pressed "go" and saw this:

No dice. Still from a quick read of a few forms it would seem that
this _should_ work. Perhaps my Optus USB things config is getting in
the way. I am a tad suspicious of the "No Carrier" bit. I probably
could get it working via wvdial or the likes if I felt sufficiently
motivated. :)

Perhaps another way would be to use the E71 as a wireless AP, there
are a few S60 apps about that will let you do this..
