It just works. It's using geolocation so generally it works out you are
in Australia so use the Australian mirror. I can hit it via IPv4 and
IPv6 and the only reason I know its that mirror is because the last hop
is ANU. The IPv6 you'll need to look up whois as, at least for me, they
had no reverse DNS for the last 2 hops:
10. gw1.er1.anu.cpe.aarnet.net.au 0.0% 10 72.5 73.9 72.5 74.9 0.8
11. 2001:388:1034:7::2 0.0% 10 73.2 74.3 73.2 75.6 0.9
12. 2001:388:1034:2900::26 0.0% 10 73.4 73.9 73.2 74.7 0.5
The IPv6, from Internode, crosses over to AARNet in Adelaide which makes
sense as that's where the tunnel broker is then it goes via Melbourne
before coming to Canberra. I thought all the AARNet RNOs were directly
connected to each other but admittedly my knowledge of that network
would be dated now. It's about 10ms from Adelaide to Melbourne and then
about 7ms from Melbourne to Canberra which is pretty good anyhow. The
rest is my ADSL connection and getting to a broker in Adelaide.
