I can squeeze 1280*1024 from crappy embedded processors running full blown
Debian. Boot from CF card in about 2 minutes.The devices shot to (limited)
fame a while ago as a sub US$100 computer. ewayco.com TU models.

That and other companies will supply the same computer mated to a touch
screen. The standard package is VESA compliant - bolts onto the back of any
LCD monitor.

It is tough finding a better deal. But I'm sure it can be done (haven't
managed yet).
