[clug] Selecting a subnotebook/netbook

Hi List,

I'm looking to get a subnotebook/netbook and am looking for descriptions 
of people's experiences. Aspects I'd like to hear about:

- Was GNU/Linux available as a purchase option (to show support for the 
vendor, even if I'd tear it off and install Gentoo almost immediately),
- If the one you bought didn't come with GNU/Linux, how well does it run 
after you installed it? Any headaches (fiddling around with modules, 
binary drivers, ...)
- What's the battery life like?
- How much did it cost?
