CLUG Programmers' Special Interest Group Meeting - 11th September 2008
	======================================================================

Date: 11th September 2008 (Second Thursday of the month)

Time: 19:00 - 21:00 (or when it finishes)

Speaker:	Rusty Russell

Abstract:
Rusty will be giving two talks about C programming.

The first will be an introduction to the new CCAN
project (http://ccan.ozlabs.org/). No, it's not the
Canadian Cancer Action Network, it's the Comprehensive
C Archive Network - a repository for useful C libraries.
CCAN is a new project trying to organise code out of
people's junk directories and into useful service.

The second will be his proposed "libantithread"
library, first mentioned at the LCA 2008 lightning
talks. This aims to be a library to allow people to do
multiprocessing without using threads, because we all
know from Tridge's keynote talk at LCA 2005 that
threads are evil. We haven't heard much more about it
since then, so this may the first time we get to see
		libantithread working.

Venue: Looking Glass Studios

Meet at Cafe Essen at 18:00 (see map) for socialising before
going on to the Looking Glass Studios training room at
19:00 for the talk, and finding somewhere to go for dinner by
		consensus afterwards.
