] cd /tmp
] aptitude install dh-make-perl build-essential fakeroot
] dh-make-perl --build --cpan XML::Entities
] sudo dpkg -i libxml-entities*.deb

Season with actually reading the documentation, but that should help
significantly ease the pain of packaging it yourself, if you wish.
