Martin pointed out Rusty had demo'd this at LCA 2008.

This led me to a wiki on wii-remote:
<http://www.wiimoteproject.com/>

Which has a linux thread & the whiteboard:
<http://www.wiimoteproject.com/applications/linux-whiteboard/>

which points to a google sourcecode project:
<http://code.google.com/p/linux-whiteboard/>

An ubuntu .deb is available there [as well as source]

Thanks you all for your tolerance and patience with me.
