[clug] Support for OPen source CMS

Hi Caroline,

From my relatively limited experience, I'd recommend Drupal. We use it
on our public website, although it's ironic we're using a CMS for a site
with little actual content :) We have also installed to drive a few
customers Intranet's. I'm quite impressed by the sheer number of extra
modules available, the ease of adding them in and administering the
whole lot.

Agileware (http://www.agileware.net) are a local company with a large
amount of experience in Drupal, including module/integration development.

Ingenious Software (http://www.ingenious.com.au/) are a local company
who use and support Plone, if you were considering it.

You might be interested in the results of a Drupal Vs Plone shootout
conducted at a Fossact meeting about a year ago.
http://www.fossact.org.au/node/64 . Dave and Justin produced a CD with
both CMS's on them to show them off.

Good luck
Andrew

From our limited web research it would seem that Drupal and Joomla are probably the strongest contenders. Typo3 also seems good but seems to have a higher learning curve although right now its advantage is that I know where we can get support.
