[clug] I want to switch my home computer from M$ Windows XP toLINUX [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi all,

I'd also suggest that running both Windows and Ubuntu would be better
than
going "cold turkey". You may find that essential/familiar software/games
are not available for Linux.

Make no illusions, you may need to invest some of your time to learn new
ways of doing things if you're going to get the most from Linux.

Hi John.

If you've been a Windows user you might want to consider Kubuntu, which
has a user interface that you may find more intuitive initially.

The download page is here: http://www.kubuntu.org/download.php

You could download both Kubuntu and Ubuntu and boot them both from CD.
That would let you see the differences.

Cheers,

Fred
